Join Us to Celebrate Healthcare Science Week 2026! 🌟
We’re excited to kick off Healthcare Science Week 2026 with a brand‑new national webinar hosted by the Healthcare Science team at NHS Education for Scotland.
This inspiring online event will shine a spotlight on innovative work happening across the full breadth of Healthcare Science specialisms within NHS Scotland celebrating the scientists behind the health service who drive transformation, diagnostics, innovation, and patient care every day.

NHS Tayside at Dundee Science Centre
Primary and Secondary school pupils across Tayside and Angus will experience hands-on activities and practical games highlighting various HCS disciplines and themes at 9:30-12pm.
Hosted by The Dundee Science Centre (DSC), this is the 3rd year a team of Healthcare Scientists across different HCS disciplines (including Genetics, Medical Physics, Bowel Screening) within NHS Tayside have come together to showcase STEM and inspire the next generation.

NHS Lothian HCS Insight Day
NHS Lothian are hosting an insight day into Healthcare Science for 16-18 years olds as a collaboration with representatives from Labs, Physiology, Medical Physics, Clinical Engineering, Bioinformatics & Data Science for a hands on experience and career insights.

Chief Scientific Officer's Awards 2026
As part of Healthcare Science Week celebrations, our Scottish Government, Healthcare Science team are delighted to invite you to attend the Chief Scientific Officer’s Awards 2026, which will be held virtually on Thursday 12 March, from 13:00 to 14:00.
This event is an excellent opportunity to come together to celebrate Scotland’s scientific workforce and to showcase the outstanding work taking place across our NHS. The awards highlight the impact that healthcare scientists, researchers, and innovators have on patient care, service improvement, and the future of healthcare in Scotland.

Celebrating Innovation in HCS with NHS Tayside
Location at Dundee, Ninewells, Improvement Academy: 9am - 5pm
This is the second event celebrating HCS within NHS Tayside. The day will consist of short presentations from various HCS disciplines with the aim of showcasing innovation and the impact of this within the patient journey. This will be an interactive and informative day for all HCS fellows in NHS Tayside and other associated medical professionals. Registration details to follow.
