2025 Career Levels 2 to 4 - Undergraduate Bursary Application
We are pleased to announce a new funding initiative designed to support and empower our dedicated healthcare support workers. This opportunity aims to provide financial assistance for professional development, training, and career progression, recognising the vital role of our support workers in Healthcare Science.
To coincide with the NES Healthcare Science Support Workers Education and Career Framework (Levels 2 - 4) if you're looking to enhance your skills, pursue further education, or access development opportunities, this funding is here to help you thrive in your role and continue making a difference in your Healthcare Science career journey.
Who is eligible?
This application is for in-service NHS Healthcare Science Support Workers (AfC Band 4 or below) seeking a funding contribution towards an undergraduate-level qualification, as part of their development within Career Framework levels 2–4. The bursary will be paid to the employing NHS Board and may not cover the full cost of the qualification.
Bursary fund details:
Please note this is for undergraduate qualifications only.
This competitive bursary support is limited to a maximum of £2,500 and is for undergraduate level education and training which takes place within the financial year 2025-26. Please note this funding is for one year only, from the commencement of the agreed award programme in the financial year 2025-26. If funding is required for subsequent years of undergraduate study, then please note this must be re-applied for in future financial years, subject to this bursary being available, and is not guaranteed.

- Once this MS Form is submitted it will automatically be received by the NES Healthcare Science team. After completion you should receive an automated message advising that your form has been submitted and there is no further action required.
- We will review all applications and respond to all applicants advising them of the outcome by the end of August 2025.
- Late applications will be not be accepted after 17:00 on Friday 15th August 2025.
